Meghan Markle acknowledges making 'mistakes' in response to public criticism.

Duchess Meghan shared that while she openly embraces both the pursuit of perfection and life in the public eye, she also grants herself “grace” when she makes mistakes.

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she reflected on her past experiences, stating, “You learn to never do it again.” The former “Suits” star acknowledged that even if things go smoothly, there isn’t much to learn, emphasizing, “If you don’t learn anything, you don’t grow.”

Markle, 44, pointed out her two children—Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4—as examples of learning. She mentioned how they tackle challenges that can feel overwhelming. “I remind them, ‘I know it’s really hard right now, but trust me, it’s going to get easier soon,'” she said, noting that she offers herself the same kindness.

“Nothing is perfect, and I make mistakes too,” she added.

The Duchess humorously remarked, “Trying to be perfect isn’t fun,” quipping that if one wants to enjoy life, striving for perfection seems counterproductive.

She went on to detail her commitment to balancing her public life with family time, saying, “I love being able to do both.” However, she cautioned against letting external opinions dictate personal choices, asserting, “the moment you start basing all your personal decisions on external judgment, you lose your sense of self.”

Markle also touched upon the importance of the boundaries she has set, which have become stronger over time, helping her to navigate life in the spotlight.

“I don’t know if it’s self-preservation or just growth,” she noted, expressing appreciation for how Prince Harry supports her by shielding her from negative press. “He loves me so boldly and with all his might,” she shared, mentioning his unique perspective on the media.

Markle has found herself in the public eye since her acting career began in the early 2000s. Following her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018 and their subsequent withdrawal from royal duties in 2021, the couple has distanced themselves from the royal family, often sharing their experiences publicly.

However, it seems Prince Harry has sought to mend relationships within his family, especially after a recent meeting with his father, King Charles III.
