ICE Focuses on Convicted Criminals with New Website
Immigration and Customs Enforcement is increasing efforts to apprehend individuals deemed the “worst of the worst” as the Department of Homeland Security has launched a new searchable website. This platform aims to enhance transparency regarding criminal activities among illegal immigrants.
A recent press release revealed that five illegal immigrants were arrested on Monday. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Americans may be caught up in holiday festivities, but our mission to apprehend and deport illegal aliens committing crimes continues.” She emphasized that every day, federal law enforcement removes dangerous individuals from communities.
Among those arrested was Juan Orsenzio Natario, a Mexican national with a prior conviction for child molestation in Fort Bend County, Texas. Also apprehended was Phatana Phuthavon, an illegal immigrant from Laos, convicted of indecent assault on a child in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Ernesto Leonardo Mercado-Mejia, from El Salvador, was also taken into custody for previously being convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in Santa Maria, California. Another individual, Salvador Flores-Castellenos, a Mexican national, has a past conviction for robbery and assault with a firearm in Fresno, California. Additionally, ICE arrested Miguel Angel Rodriguez Ramos, convicted of selling cocaine in Randolph County, North Carolina.
The new website showcases criminal illegal aliens arrested by federal officials since the beginning of President Donald Trump’s administration. It includes information such as names, countries of origin, locations of arrest, and prior criminal records. It’s designed for users to search by both country of origin and state.
McLaughlin noted, “This new page will allow Americans to see for themselves the criminal illegal aliens we apprehend and the crimes they commit.” She reiterated that the initiative is focused on transparency and tangible results.
