Minnesota student from Somalia threatens violence against ICE agents in a viral outburst filled with profanity

Controversial Video by Somali Student Sparks Backlash

A Somali college student in Minnesota is facing criticism for a social media outburst in which he allegedly threatened ICE agents.

Hasan Muhammad posted a video rant that contained threats towards immigration agents, claiming he would assail them the next time they appeared in his Owatonna neighborhood.

“ICE, I heard your car was parked in Owatonna when I wasn’t around. You guys are really something else. Next time I see you, I’m going to jump,” he expressed in the video. “Bring all the cavalry. You should be scared,” he added.

While Muhammad, a student at Minnesota State University, seems to have removed the original TikTok video, it had already gained extensive attention.

In response to the backlash, he released several follow-up videos where he apologized for what he called an “error in judgment.” “I don’t expect forgiveness. I just wanted to say I’m sorry,” he stated, emphasizing it was meant to be a joke.

His apology didn’t sit well with everyone; some noted it resembled the cringeworthy apology from YouTube star Logan Paul after his controversial post in 2018.

This incident coincides with ICE’s commitment to stepping up its immigration enforcement in Minnesota. Officials from ICE stated, “The weather in Minnesota is cloudy, and the chance of an ICE encounter is 100%,” sharing footage of recent arrests.

Federal authorities have increased their focus on Minnesota amid claims that a significant portion of Somali immigrants possess fraudulent immigration documents.
