The Ravens Seek a New Head Coach
The Baltimore Ravens are on the hunt for a new head coach after parting ways with John Harbaugh on Tuesday, following an 18-season tenure. This decision caught many in the NFL off guard.
Just a day later, Jesse Minter, the defensive coordinator for the Chargers and someone with familial connections to Harbaugh, found himself in a prime position. According to Calci, a financial trading and prediction market based in New York, Minter has about a 40% chance of landing the Ravens’ head coaching job.
Minter joined Michigan’s coaching staff under his brother Jim in 2022 and transitioned to the Chargers in 2024. He has successfully managed a defense that ranks among the top 11 in points and yards over the last two seasons.
Despite this, Calci indicates that there are still several familiar names floating around as potential candidates.
Brian Flores, the Vikings’ defensive coordinator, is also being considered for the Raiders’ head coach position, though as of Thursday afternoon, he stood at 18% odds. Meanwhile, Kliff Kingsbury, the former Cardinals head coach who just vacated his role as offensive coordinator with the Commanders, has a 16% chance of being selected—making it the third-highest in Calci.
Notably, Seahawks offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak, Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula, and recently released Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski are all hovering around the 10% mark in terms of likelihood.
As for Harbaugh, he appears undeterred and is eyeing potential opportunities. The Super Bowl-winning coach is reportedly a strong candidate for a leadership position with the Giants, with his agent already fielding inquiries from more than six teams.
