Vice President J.D. Vance responded to Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), who criticized the Trump administration’s recent successful operation to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Vance made his comments during an appearance on “Jesse Watters Prime Time,” stating that Crockett, in his opinion, had little credibility to weigh in on the matter. “She doesn’t know what she’s talking about,” he asserted.

He added, “As the president said, there’s never been a worse press secretary, and it reflects her lack of knowledge regarding global issues.” This commentary seemed to underscore her role as a voice for the Democratic Party on the topic.

During her appearance on “The View,” Crockett had drawn a parallel between President Trump and Maduro, accusing Trump of undermining democratic values. She indicated that, even though many in Venezuela might dislike their leaders, the same sentiment exists towards U.S. politicians.

Crockett claimed that Trump’s actions against Venezuela were self-serving, framing Maduro’s arrest as akin to a kidnapping. She argued that Americans would be outraged if foreign nations were to treat their leaders similarly.

Vance countered this perspective, describing the operation as a lawful action underpinned by serious accusations against Maduro, including narcoterrorism and arms trafficking. He emphasized that this was not an abduction, but rather a necessary law enforcement measure. “We had legitimate charges, and now he will face trial,” Vance said, further asserting that Maduro would receive due process in the U.S.

In a closing remark, Vance expressed confidence that Maduro would ultimately be convicted. It’s a complex interplay of differing views, reflecting the broader tensions over leadership and international law.
