Fetterman Voices Support for Military Action Against Iran

On Monday, Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, expressed strong support for President Donald Trump potentially using military force against Iran if necessary. Speaking on CNN, he stated, “Of course, absolutely.” He believes that he was the only Democrat who supported strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities the previous year.

“If it weren’t for those strikes, Iran might have developed nuclear weapons. I think we can all agree that they shouldn’t possess such a capability,” he added.

Fetterman described Iran as one of the leading state sponsors of terrorism and questioned why there isn’t more support for intervening against the regime, which he claims has already killed over 600 people amid ongoing protests. “Why wouldn’t we want to back those brave demonstrators?” he said, expressing hope for targeted actions that could dismantle the oppressive system.

During the broadcast, host Kate Bolduan raised concerns that a U.S. attack could undermine the protests and bolster support for the Iranian government. Nevertheless, Fetterman remained steadfast in his belief that military strikes could be justified if they make sense strategically, noting the inspiring courage of the protesters.

“I just don’t understand why we can’t unite to support them and strive to overthrow that dreadful regime,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, in a response to Fetterman’s assertions, Rep. Pat Ryan (D-NY) expressed his disapproval, stating that the comments elevated his blood pressure. He reflected on his experiences in Iraq, sharing the pain of lost friends and the toll on innocent lives. Although he characterized the Iranian regime as evil, he criticized bypassing Congress for military action.

President Trump, addressing the situation, indicated that Iran appears to be “crossing” significant U.S. thresholds while the protests against the government are ongoing. He warned that any attacks on American interests would be met with a decisive response, stating, “We’re considering very strong options as we evaluate the situation.”
