Amber Rose Criticizes Ariana Grande’s Anti-ICE Protest Advocacy
Amber Rose has voiced her concern regarding what she perceives as hypocrisy among the elite, particularly after Ariana Grande openly supported protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Grande urged her followers to participate in a nationwide shutdown scheduled for January 30, 2026, advocating for people to stay home from work, school, and shopping.
Rose, a model and actress, expressed her discontent about the activism of wealthy celebrities, stating that urging the public to abstain from work while being worth an estimated $250 million to $300 million feels out of touch. “Telling people not to go to work and protesting ICE is like, ‘Girl, shut up,'” she said during a live stream with social media figure Suniko.
Her criticism centers on the potential impact of such a shutdown on families struggling to make ends meet. “Do you really want to tell people to stop working?” she questioned, pointing out that it seems unrealistic for someone with Grande’s wealth to make such requests.
The idea of a nationwide shutdown has sparked significant debate online, with discussions highlighting the difficult situation of those living paycheck to paycheck. Rose also scrutinized the celebrity involvement in political issues, referencing Nicki Minaj’s controversial engagement with former President Donald Trump. Rose mentioned her longstanding friendship with Minaj, indicating that Minaj had facilitated their meeting with Trump.
When asked about Minaj, Rose defended her, emphasizing her philanthropic efforts and questioning the backlash Minaj faces despite positively impacting communities. “She’s helping people, so why the criticism?” Rose said.
Furthermore, Rose cautioned against escalating protests against federal law enforcement, warning that tensions could reach a dangerous threshold. She reiterated, “Please stop trying to stop federal workers from doing their jobs,” stressing the importance of caution in the current climate of unrest.
In light of recent violent incidents involving ICE agents, including the shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, Rose’s remarks seem to be urging a more nuanced approach to activism rather than encouraging hostility.
