Military warns Iran before live-fire exercises in the Strait of Hormuz

The U.S. military has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating it won’t tolerate any “dangerous and unprofessional behavior” in relation to U.S. forces in the Middle East. This comes as Iran prepares for live-fire exercises in the Strait of Hormuz.

The warning coincides with an announcement from President Trump regarding a “massive armada” led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln heading towards Iran. The U.S. Central Command indicated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) is set to conduct exercises over the next two days.

Centcom emphasized that while they respect Iran’s right to operate in international airspace and waters, such behavior increases the risks of conflict and destabilization. They specifically mentioned unsafe actions by the Revolutionary Guard, such as overflights of U.S. military vessels and suspicious approaches by high-speed boats.

Moreover, they reiterated that the U.S. military remains highly trained, capable, and committed to maintaining professionalism. Iran’s guards, they asserted, need to adhere to similar standards.

The Strait of Hormuz is described by CENTCOM as a crucial international maritime route that supports global trade. It sees about 100 commercial ships daily, showcasing its importance.

In related discussions, Secretary of the Army Pete Hegseth stated during a Cabinet meeting that the Army is prepared to meet any demands from the president regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump also informed Iran recently that “time is running out” for negotiations, adding a sense of urgency to the ongoing situation.
