Yoga Students Confront ICE Policies at Studio

Students at Core Power Yoga Studio in Minneapolis are expressing their outrage over alleged complicity with federal immigration enforcement. This dispute came to light during a confrontation captured on video last weekend, prompting demands for the studio to openly denounce ICE.

The video, shared on social media by Heather Anderson—a dedicated member for nearly ten years—shows a group of at least 13 women confronting two staff members in the studio’s lobby after Sunday classes.

Following the incident, Core Power Yoga, which is based in Denver, banned Anderson from the studio but later responded to the backlash by posting anti-ICE signs within the premises.

“Answer me, let’s go…why are you silent?” Anderson can be heard asking, directing her attention to a visibly startled staff member. She insists, “Let me hear it, Delaney, loud and proud, baby,” pressing the staff for their response.

As tension grew, Anderson accused the employee of being unprepared, demanding forthright answers as other customers voiced their support.

When the employee mentioned she was on a break, Anderson quickly interrupted, insisting, “No, don’t pause! You’re here to answer—let’s go! What do you have to say, Delaney?”

Switching her focus to another staff member, Anderson shouted, “Mr. Delaney doesn’t seem to be answering!”

At one point, an employee attempted to justify the situation, but Anderson countered with frustration, asking if they would reinstall the ICE sign at the entrance.

“It’s not okay for Core Power to remain quiet amid the turmoil in Minneapolis,” an unidentified woman added passionately. “People are being murdered, kidnapped… This is our community, and this is unacceptable.” Her remarks were met with applause from fellow patrons.

Interestingly, a backdrop of Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” played throughout the six-minute video as customers continued to challenge the employees.

Anderson noted that the dispute arose from gossip indicating that corporate management had instructed the studio staff to remove a previously displayed anti-ICE sign.

In response to the weekend events, Core Power released an Instagram statement, asserting they do not endorse the violent ICE raids in Minneapolis and stating that they were distributing approved signage to their locations.

Despite being banned, Anderson stands by her actions during the confrontation. “What I said in that video still holds true,” she remarked, emphasizing her position and the dynamics of power within corporate structures.

Core Power has not yet commented on the situation.
