Kamala Harris' 'HQ' X account updates its handle after receiving significant online ridicule.

Kamala Harris Revives Social Media Account

Former Vice President Kamala Harris, on Thursday, brought back her Kamala Corporate social media account—previously part of her 2024 campaign—now rebranded as a “Gen Z-led progressive content hub.” However, less than 24 hours later, the account underwent yet another change.

Originally, the X account was renamed “HQ” with the handle “@headquars_67,” which seems to refer to the popular 6-7 meme. It posted a video introducing itself with the tagline, “Welcome to Headquarters, the new progressive content hub led by Gen Z.” This new handle, however, faced significant ridicule online, leading the account to change its name again to “headquants68_.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Harris’ office for clarification on whether the original handle was intentionally connected to the meme or a reaction to online mockery, but there wasn’t an immediate response.

An embedded video in the post features Harris responding to a question about what’s happening at “headquarters.” She expressed her excitement, stating, “I have some good news. So the Kamala headquarters is turning into a ‘headquarters.’ It’s basically a place where you can get updates online about what’s going on and where you can also meet and revisit great and courageous leaders…” She encouraged followers to stay engaged.

Many conservative commentators reacted critically to the video and the initial rebranding efforts, dubbing it ill-considered. Journalist Chris Rufo speculated that “67” might indicate that the term was outdated, while commentator Stephen L. Miller added humorously, “Six seven…you get it!” The Republican Jewish Federation jokingly advised Harris to “run, Kamala, run!”

Interestingly, not all responses were negative. Stephanie Feldman, who once served as the national policy director for Biden’s 2020 campaign, questioned the account’s strategy, asking whether the approach would help Democrats engage more effectively with voters. Democratic strategist Matt Corridoni echoed her sentiment, suggesting that the pressure for calmness is hindering some candidates from behaving candidly.
