Concerns grow among friends over Biden's fight with prostate cancer as fatigue emerges

Concerns among Joe Biden’s friends are growing regarding his struggle with aggressive prostate cancer. While aides assert that he is in good spirits, some close to him have noted an increase in fatigue, which they believe may be linked to his ongoing medical treatments.

Four friends who have recently connected with Biden mentioned to a media outlet that they haven’t received any health updates, but they’ve noticed that he seems more tired lately. They suspect this weariness stems from the type of cancer he is fighting, along with the treatment he’s undergoing.

A different acquaintance pointed out that despite the challenges, Biden remains active and hopeful, feeling encouraged by his response to treatment. Aides also emphasized that the 83-year-old is engaged in projects, including writing his memoirs and preparing for future public appearances.

Biden is set to visit South Carolina on February 27, marking the sixth anniversary of his primary election win there.

In 2025, Biden’s office revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer that had metastasized to his bones—classified by medical experts as an incurable condition. It was stated that the cancer has a Gleason score of 9 out of 10, indicating one of the most aggressive forms that tend to spread rapidly.

Biden began radiation therapy at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia, and he was already receiving hormone therapy prior to this announcement.

On October 20, 2025, Biden celebrated the completion of his radiation treatment by ringing a ceremonial bell, with his daughter Ashley describing it as a small celebration of his struggle against the disease. Earlier, in September 2025, he underwent surgery to remove skin cancer lesions from his head.

Despite his health issues, Biden has continued to attend important events. Noteworthy moments include attending Pope Francis’s funeral in April 2025 and the funeral of former Vice President Dick Cheney in November.

Currently, efforts have been made to contact Biden’s office for further comments.
