James Carville delivers a harsh criticism of Trump before the State of the Union.

James Carville, a key figure behind Bill Clinton’s political ascent, shared a blunt outlook on President Donald Trump’s upcoming State of the Union address, suggesting it could lead to “public humiliation” for the president by November.

Carville, often referred to as the “Ragin’ Cajun” due to his outspoken nature, expressed his belief that almost everyone in Trump’s administration, aside from senior advisor Stephen Miller, is disillusioned with him. In a conversation with journalist Al Hunt, he remarked, “No matter how bad you think this is, your inner circle, your military, your staff, your Congress, your lawyers—it’s only the beginning.”

He painted a dire picture for November, saying, “Do you have any idea how miserable you’re going to feel? Tens of millions of Americans will get to voice their thoughts on you.”

Speaking directly to Trump, he urged him to be aware of the betrayals around him, bluntly criticizing the president’s image and background while saying, “everyone’s stabbing you in the back.” He used strong language, calling Trump “fat, sorry, asshole,” and claimed that the Pentagon would start leaking damaging information to harm Trump’s standing, hinting at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Carville dismissed any trust in Congress, noting how members were likely to reject Trump’s initiatives and predicting a significant defeat for the administration.

Adding to his critique, Carville said, “You’re the most unpopular president ever at this point in your term. The public doesn’t like you—do you get that? They don’t like your appearance, your demeanor, or your style.”

In discussing legal matters, he referred to a decision by the U.S. Attorney’s Office not to prosecute six Congress members for advising military personnel on refusing lawful orders.

He went on to comment on former prosecutor Jeanine Pirro’s exit from the federal scene, suggesting that it’s indicative of Trump’s decline.

In closing, Carville extended “good health” wishes to Trump, although he warned that “public humiliation is happening as we speak,” noting that many would voice unfavorable opinions about him.

In response, White House press secretary Abigail Jackson dismissed Carville’s commentary as irrelevant, labeling him an “irrelevant loser” and criticizing the negativity against Trump. She emphasized that the president is focused on fulfilling his promises to the American people.
