Ex-Auburn coach Bruce Pearl advocates for 'free Iran' following US-Israel attacks

Bruce Pearl Supports Trump’s Actions Against Iran

Former Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl has recently referred to Iran as the “head of the snake,” expressing support for President Donald Trump shortly after the U.S. and Israel commenced a joint offensive against the nation.

Pearl, who until his retirement in September was one of the few Jewish basketball coaches in college sports, shared his thoughts on social media. This followed the pre-emptive strike carried out by the U.S. in coordination with Israel on Saturday morning.

In his post, Pearl stated, “President Trump gave Iran a chance to avoid war by simply agreeing to ban nuclear weapons. Iran started meddling with other Arab countries and Israel, but that was a big mistake! Now, Saudi Arabia is joining us.” He went on to declare, “Iran is the head of the snake. President Trump is the leader of the free world. Defeat evil and have peace!”

Earlier, he had also called for a “free Iran” and “true peace” in the Middle East, expressing a prayer for the protection of U.S. military personnel as they engage in “Operation Epic Fury,” targeting Iranian military installations.

Meanwhile, President Trump has also made statements urging the Iranian citizens to act against their government, suggesting that after the U.S. and Israel conduct their operations, a chance for freedom would emerge. He warned them about the dangerous situation outside their homes, emphasizing that this might be their only opportunity in generations.

In response to these escalations, Iran has launched missile strikes against U.S. facilities in several countries, with reports indicating approximately 40 missiles landing in Israel. Additionally, there were claims of attacks on the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet, though there have been no reported casualties from these confrontations.

Pearl has remained vocal about his support for Israel following the attacks on October 7 and was appointed president of the United States Israel Education Association (USIEA) in April. He expressed pride in continuing to advocate for improved understanding and cooperation between the U.S. and Israel.
