Trump cautions that the U.S. will significantly destroy an Iranian gas field if Iran targets Qatar following the Israeli strike.

Trump Issues Warning to Iran Over Potential Retaliation Against Qatar

President Donald Trump has delivered a strong message to Iran, emphasizing that any further attacks on Qatar in response to Israeli airstrikes could lead to severe consequences for Iran’s gas facilities.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump discussed an Israeli strike on the South Pars gas field, noting it was motivated by tensions in the Middle East. He mentioned that although the damage was limited, Israel felt “severely assaulted” by the situation.

He made it clear that neither the United States nor Qatar had any knowledge of the attack, and he speculated that Iran might not have been fully aware of these details either.

“The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and Qatar was not involved in it at all. We had no idea it would happen,” Trump stated. He added, “Iran mistakenly blamed Qatar for the attack on its LNG facilities.”

Trump insisted that further aggression from Israel towards the South Pars would not be tolerated, but he warned that things could change if Iran were to act recklessly against Qatar.

“If Iran decides to strike Qatar, we will respond by obliterating the South Pars gas field, with or without Israel’s involvement, using unprecedented power. We hope to prevent such violence due to its long-term impact on Iran, but we won’t hesitate if Qatar’s LNG is attacked again,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, reports from Iranian state media hinted that Iran might retaliate by targeting Qatari refineries. The South Pars field is shared between the two nations, but only Iranian facilities were affected in this recent situation.

Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesperson criticized the Israeli strike in a message on social media.

“Israel’s attack on facilities connected to the South Pars field is a reckless move amidst escalating military tensions in the region,” he asserted, urging all parties to avoid targeting vital facilities and to prioritize regional peace.

Qatar Energy, a key state-owned company and a global leader in liquefied natural gas exports, reported considerable damage to its facilities due to missile strikes. They promptly dispatched emergency teams to handle the situation, confirming no casualties at this stage.

“Emergency responders were immediately sent to manage the fire, and a thorough search revealed no injuries,” the company stated.

The ministry of foreign affairs in Qatar expressed concern over Iran’s aggressive approach, warning that it could pull other countries into a conflict that does not involve them.
