About 800 teens transformed a $4.8 million mansion in Texas, rented via Airbnb, into a chaotic scene filled with fights and gunfire, turning what should have been a quiet getaway into a wild party.
Kishore Kallapudi, the property owner, expressed his disbelief at being misled by the group who initially booked the luxurious home for a small get-together, only to later promote a gathering on social media in Celina on Saturday night.
“Someone booked this property for a party of seven,” Kallapudi shared.
He added that the teens not only damaged furniture but moved it all to the garage to create a large makeshift dance floor.
“We were totally shocked by the destruction. They shoved all the living room furniture into the garage,” he recalled.
“They removed wall fixtures, broke several things. It was a mess. The island and granite countertops were also damaged because it seemed the kids danced on them,” he noted.
A video filmed inside the residence captured a scene more akin to a club than a spacious four-bedroom house.
The news of the enormous party quickly spread online, attracting even more attendees.
“Social media posts promoting the event resulted in between 500 and 800 teens and young adults converging at the house,” stated Celina Police Chief John Callison.
As officers navigated through the crowd, violence erupted with two individuals fighting, shown in police footage, leading to multiple gunshots being fired as people fled from the area.
No injuries were reported, and it’s still unclear if the shooter was identified.
There were also reports of ten armed individuals at the main entrance threatening violence.
“Shots were fired, assaults occurred, and there were threats of killing; it was a dangerous situation that could have harmed someone,” Chief Callison remarked.
Authorities believe several shots were aimed both at the mansion and another location nearby, where many partygoers were parked.
“This isn’t just a local issue; it affects surrounding communities as well,” the police chief emphasized.
He criticized the social media-driven mass gatherings as reckless.
“This incident highlights the very real dangers of large, uncontrolled parties, especially involving underage drinking and drugs,” he added.
As a parent and police chief, he encouraged parents to use this situation as a chance to discuss responsibility and decision-making with their children.
The home, which stands on 18.3 acres and was built in 1996, is valued at about $4.84 million.
Callison reported that a minor was arrested for DUI and another person for outstanding assault charges, noting the investigation is ongoing.
It remains uncertain if any additional charges will arise from the event.
