Authorities Look into Third Alleged Domestic Violence Case Involving Canceled 'Bachelorette' Star Taylor Frankie Paul

Investigation into Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Taylor Frankie Paul

Utah State Police are currently looking into a third alleged incident of domestic violence involving Taylor Frankie Paul, who was poised to star in season 22 of the ABC show The Bachelorette. However, the season was abruptly canceled earlier this year after a video surfaced showing a confrontation between her and an ex-boyfriend.

Last month, Paul’s ex-girlfriend, Dakota Mortensen, reached out to Utah authorities, claiming domestic violence by Paul, as reported by a spokesperson from the West Jordan Police. This latest allegation stems from an incident that allegedly occurred in 2024.

This marks the third time domestic violence allegations have surfaced involving both Paul and Mortensen. Utah State Police are examining multiple videos related to the incident. Currently, they have only heard Mortensen’s account but have also engaged with Paul’s attorney.

Investigators have requested that Paul either submit a written statement concerning the allegations or come to a police station for a personal interview.

According to Breitbart News, the upcoming season of The Bachelorette was canceled just three days before its intended premiere due to the viral video that depicted Paul allegedly attacking Mortensen and throwing a metal bar stool during the altercation, with her children present.

The video was highlighted by TMZ, indicating that it served as evidence in a prior domestic violence case against Paul, where she eventually pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. This plea resulted in a three-year probation period that is expected to conclude in August.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors reportedly dropped four additional charges, which included domestic violence in the presence of a child and child abuse, among others.

Furthermore, a police report revealed that a young girl, just 5 years old and present during the incident, was injured, suffering what they described as a “goose egg” on her head.

Paul is a mother of three: an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son with her ex-husband Tate Paul, as well as a 2-year-old son with Mortensen. Recently, Mortensen was granted temporary custody of the 2-year-old, according to NBC News.

A spokesperson for the Draper Police Department mentioned that there is an ongoing “domestic assault investigation” involving Paul and Mortensen. Mortensen, when contacting the West Jordan police, stated he was referred by Draper police since the incident was allegedly under their jurisdiction.
