Trump criticizes a new reporter for interrupting his response about military strikes in Iran

Trump suggests that the US will conclude the conflict in Iran in two to three weeks.

Trump’s Tense Exchange with Reporter on Iran Agreement

During a press conference, President Donald Trump interrupted a reporter while she was attempting to ask a question. The reporter, Libby Dean from NewsNation, inquired about the need for a potential agreement with Iran to cease military operations and whether any talks had occurred with the newly appointed Iranian leader.

“No, Iran doesn’t need to make a deal, no,” Trump responded. He mentioned consulting with various individuals and noted the current administration in Iran was more open. He then began speaking about a supposed gift they presented him. However, Dean interrupted him again, prompting an irritated response from the president.

Trump remarked, “Hold on, can you answer a question for me? You’re new, you know? We’ve had a lot of problems with you, right?” He emphasized that Iran had no obligation to reach an agreement and stated that if they continue to develop nuclear capabilities, it won’t matter whether a deal is in place or not.

He did suggest, though, that a deal could potentially materialize, but insisted there was no need to pause military actions.

Trump went on to address the media’s trustworthiness, saying that public faith in mainstream journalism had diminished. He stated that widespread negative coverage about him contributed to this loss of trust, indicating, “People don’t believe the press. People not believing the press is a very bad thing for our country.”

In that same session, Trump mentioned that the United States might end its military engagement in Iran in the next two to three weeks. “I had one goal: They don’t have nuclear weapons. And that goal has been accomplished,” he asserted, adding that efforts would continue until the job was fully finished. He speculated that the completion might occur shortly, possibly within days.

Trump is expected to deliver a national address regarding the ongoing conflict with Iran on Wednesday night.
