Representative Sidney Kamlager-Dove, a Democrat from California, expressed her concerns regarding President Donald Trump’s handling of the situation in Iran. During a discussion, she remarked, “Even Stevie Wonder can see how much this war is impacting us.” Kamlager-Dove highlighted the significant rise in gas prices in California, which are approaching $10, along with increasing fertilizer costs. “This guy, Dr. Jesus, wants to spend $2 billion of your money every day instead of facilitating your medical care,” she added, clearly frustrated.
On a recent episode of his late-night show, Stephen Colbert aired clips of Kamlager-Dove, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience. Liberal lawmakers supported her comments on social media, particularly her clarification that her remark was ”he’s-!” after someone spotlighted a post suggesting she referred to Trump as “that guy.”
Some House Democrats have initiated impeachment proceedings against Army Secretary Pete Hegseth, considering invocation of the 25th Amendment concerning President Trump amid the ongoing conflict. Meanwhile, there’s talk of a 10-day ceasefire agreement involving Israel and Lebanon, announced by President Trump after discussions with the leaders of both nations. Initially, it seemed that the ceasefire did not apply to the U.S. and Iran’s operations in Lebanon, as Israeli forces continued targeting Hezbollah militants.
The U.S. military has also enforced a blockade on Iranian ports, with reports that 14 vessels altered their courses following the blockade’s initiation. This situation continues to unfold while discussions of diplomatic resolutions seem ongoing.
