New Spin-Off of “The Secret of the Mormon Wife” Announced

A spin-off titled “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County” is set to be produced, as confirmed by Hulu on Wednesday. This new series will feature Bobby Althoff, the host of “Really Good Podcast,” along with various influencers, making its debut later this year.

The cast introduces a fresh lineup of vibrant young mothers, including Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Salome Andrea, McCall Dapron, Chandler Higginson, Ashley Pease, and Madison Fisher (formerly Bontempo).

Interestingly, McCall Dapron is the younger sister of Macy Neely, who starred in the original “SLOMW.” Dapron shared her excitement with followers, mentioning, “I’ve been keeping a secret” about the upcoming series.

Macy Neely, aged 31, has been part of four seasons of the original show, appearing alongside several other notable figures like Taylor Frankie Paul, Jen Affleck, and Whitney Leavitt.

According to a press release, this group of women sees their belief as not just a religion, but a core part of their identity. The dynamic promises some intriguing narratives, with one source saying, “For some, it fights against modernity and protects their way of life, while for others it becomes a platform to embrace change and challenge the status quo.”

Althoff expressed his enthusiasm on his Instagram, branding it a “really good reality show.” The diverse cast appears to be ready to dive into the complexities of their lives, revealing secrets and possibly challenging existing norms.

It’s noteworthy that Althoff made headlines last year after her podcast interview with Drake sparked dating rumors, which she later denied. Meanwhile, Ovard also drew attention when she filed for divorce from her husband on the same day she announced the arrival of her third child.

Filming for the original “SLOMW” has recently been halted due to investigations involving Taylor Frankie Paul, although reports now indicate that filming is expected to resume following the decision not to press new charges.
