Man accused of murdering ex-wife and her new partner takes daring action in unsettling body-cam footage

Body camera footage showed the calm arrest of a 43-year-old man from Reedley, who is accused of killing his ex-wife and her new partner in a shocking double homicide in central California.

Miguel Ángel Saldana García was spotted by a police officer while walking down the street and taken into custody. The arrest was recorded shortly after 5 p.m., shortly following the deadly incident on Brent Street in Dinuba.

“Dinuba Police received several 911 calls from the 1200 block of Brent Avenue, and upon arrival, officers found a male and female in the driveway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” said Police Chief Abel Iriarte.

The victims, identified as 51-year-old Jose Medina and 39-year-old Eli Torres, were discovered in the driveway and pronounced dead at the scene. Sadly, investigators have noted the couple leaves behind several children.

Authorities reported that Saldana fled the scene in a white truck shortly after the shooting.

The truck was eventually traced to Reedley, where detectives learned he changed vehicles. A surveillance team then tracked his movements back to Dinuba.

Saldana was arrested outside the Dinuba Police Station, though officials have not confirmed if he was attempting to surrender at that time.

Investigators indicated that both vehicles connected to the incident have been recovered, and they believe the firearm used in the killings is now in police possession. A search warrant was executed at Saldana’s residence in Reedley.

It’s been noted that Saldana and Torres shared at least one child together.

As the investigation progresses, the Dinuba Unified School District is increasing support for students affected by the tragic events, highlighting that one of the victims was related to a student.

“It’s an unimaginable loss, no doubt, and processing this will take time. Our focus is to respect the family and provide support,” stated Superintendent Marti Kocevar.
