Man Arrested by Secret Service Following Fight at Trump National Doral Golf Club

Incident at Trump’s Golf Resort

A man was arrested at President Donald Trump’s Florida golf resort on Saturday afternoon after he had an altercation with Secret Service agents at a security checkpoint.

The incident took place around 4:15 p.m. at a screening area that was overseen by both federal and local authorities. Michael Townsend, the acting special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Miami field office, reported that the suspect was uncooperative and approached the agents. “During the encounter, the individual was confused and did not comply with lawful commands,” he explained. The man eventually made physical contact with one of the Secret Service members and was arrested without further incidents. Local police have charged him with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence.

Earlier that day, Trump had been at the facility with his family before leaving for a PGA Tour event. It was a busy weekend as the Cadillac Championship attracted large crowds, leading to heightened security measures at the resort’s entrances. After the arrest, the man was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.

A video shared by conservative commentator Nick Souter depicted the handcuffed individual near the checkpoint, with Souter noting that the man activated a magnetometer as he went through. Authorities have yet to disclose the suspect’s name or the reason behind his actions.

The arrest comes just a week after an individual named Cole Allen allegedly compromised security at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, firing shots and injuring a Secret Service agent, who fortunately was protected by a bulletproof vest. Allen now faces federal charges related to attempting to assassinate the president.

Despite the recent events, Townsend assured that this incident did not impair the agency’s security protocols for future visits to the Trump Doral National Golf Club, emphasizing that Trump was not on the premises at the time of the arrest.
