Trump celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a 'NICE' ICE rebranding image on Truth Social

Trump Celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a “NICE” Graphic

On Monday, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, sharing a vibrant post that showcased a stylized graphic reading “NICE,” which hints at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

This isn’t the first time Trump has made waves on Cinco de Mayo. He’s had a long history of mixing humor, political commentary, and messages about immigration on this holiday. His 2016 post about a Taco Bowl has notably resurfaced over the years, gaining significant attention each time.

In the recent post, a design featuring an eagle and shield above the word “NICE” seemed to playfully nod to ICE, styled in a way that resembles the branding of the federal agency.

Earlier in April, Trump had expressed support for the idea of rebranding ICE as “NICE,” exclaiming on social media, “Great idea!!! Do it.”

The phrase itself originated from a social media suggestion and gained popularity, particularly associated with Trump. This latest post has once again brought to light his most memorable Cinco de Mayo moment.

Back in 2016, Trump, while campaigning, shared a photo of himself enjoying a taco bowl at Trump Tower. The caption read, “Happy #CincodeMayo! The best taco bowls are made at the Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!” This tweet quickly gained traction and became a popular reference during the holiday season over the years.

The image depicted Trump at a desk, smiling and giving a thumbs-up next to the taco bowl. It has become something of a staple on social media during this date.

Last year, Trump even reshared the taco bowl post, reminiscing, “9 years ago today, this was so amazing!” As time passes, users continue to revisit and share the original image, often accompanied by playful comments like “Cinco de Trumpo” or praise for its iconic status.

Trump’s initial taco bowl post is recognized as one of the standout moments associated with Cinco de Mayo in modern social media history. As of now, the White House has not responded to inquiries about the recent posts.
