Trump Shares Request to Delay Iran Attack
President Donald Trump revealed that several leaders from the Middle East have urged him to “hold back” on a planned U.S. military strike against Iran. In a post on Truth Social, he mentioned that Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan made this request, especially considering the “serious negotiations” currently underway.
Trump expressed his appreciation for the leaders, stating, “We have been asked to postpone the military attack scheduled for tomorrow on Iran, as there may be a chance for an agreement that could be favorable not only for the U.S. but for all countries in the Middle East and beyond.”
He elaborated that the proposed agreement would ensure “no nuclear weapons in Iran.” Following this, Trump instructed Secretary of the Army Pete Hegseth and General Daniel Kaine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to refrain from launching the attack while simultaneously preparing for a large-scale operation if no acceptable agreement is reached.
This announcement followed a previous post on Sunday where Trump warned that “time is running out” for Iran. He emphasized the urgency, stating, “For Iran, the clock is ticking. If we don’t move quickly, there will be nothing left. Time is of the essence!”
In an interview with Axios, Trump reiterated that while the U.S. seeks a “deal,” he implied that Iran may not be the ideal partner for the United States.
