Controversial Congressional Candidate’s Remarks
A Democratic candidate aiming for a seat in the U.S. House has made headlines by stating plans to convert ICE detention facilities into internment camps for “American Zionists” if elected.
Maureen Galindo is a sex therapist and a single mother of three, running for Texas’ 35th Congressional District.
In a post on her Instagram over the weekend, Galindo described her unusual campaign promise. She stated, in an odd third-person description, that she would transform the Karns ICE Detention Center into a facility for “former ICE agents for American Zionists and human trafficking.” She further claimed it could potentially serve as a, well, castration center for “mostly Zionist pedophiles.”
Galindo is competing against Johnny Garcia, a former public information officer for Bexar County, in the upcoming Democratic primary runoff scheduled for May 26th.
Her comments suggested that Garcia should be tried for treason due to his ties with Israel, and that other politicians aligned with Israel should face similar accusations.
“Right after I win, I will initiate treason trials for all American candidates and officials who have knowingly accepted funds related to Israel,” she said.
She also alleged that Jews control Hollywood, stating they use “books and movies to create reality.” This rhetoric has drawn condemnation from various corners, including Texas State Representative James Talarico, who did not mince words. “This anti-Semitic rhetoric has no place in our politics,” he remarked. He emphasized the need for leadership that stands against hate, irrespective of its source.
Talarico confirmed he would not collaborate with Galindo even if he emerges victorious in his own race.
Interestingly, Galindo has previously claimed, “I stand with the Jews, but the Jews say the Zionists are not real Jews.” Presently, she also operates Exulted Sex Therapy in San Antonio, where she has offered unconventional services like “kinky birth chart readings” and “live tarot therapy” to promote individual empowerment.
