Trump Criticizes Democrats and Some Republicans Over Iran Negotiations
On Monday, President Trump expressed frustration towards Democrats and “unpatriotic” Republicans who have been vocal about his failure to secure a deal to end tensions with Iran. He advised them to “calm down and relax,” insisting that “everything will be fine in the end.”
In a post on Truth Social, he remarked, “Iran really wants a deal, and it would be a good deal for the United States and our partners.” He then launched a strong criticism against his opponents.
Trump continued, stating, “I think Democrats and some Republicans don’t grasp how challenging it is to negotiate effectively when there’s constant negative feedback, urging for faster action or, alternatively, for restraint.”
He added, “Just sit back and relax. Everything will work out in the end. It always does.”
These comments followed U.S. Central Command’s recent defensive operations targeting Iranian radar and drone facilities on Gork and Qeshm islands.
According to CENTCOM, “Careful and planned attacks were carried out on Saturday and Sunday in response to aggressive Iranian actions, including the downing of a U.S. MQ-1 drone over international waters.” They also mentioned that U.S. warplanes effectively neutralized Iranian air defenses and drone threats.
Importantly, it was noted that no U.S. service members sustained injuries, and CENTCOM assured continued protection of U.S. interests amid Iranian provocations during the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Kuwait reported that its air defense forces intercepted an incoming drone and missile early Monday.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, through the state-run IRNA news agency, stated that U.S. forces targeted their communications tower, hinting at an attack likely directed at Kuwait, which hosts U.S. Forces Central.
This incident marks yet another escalation in tensions between the U.S. and Iran, particularly concerning Iran’s enriched uranium supply, despite ongoing negotiations.
Recently, President Trump criticized Republican dissenters after reports surfaced suggesting the U.S. might lift restrictions on Iranian ports if the Iranian government disposed of its enriched uranium.
He dismissed critics within his party, saying, “I laugh at the Democrats, the RINOS, the idiots who don’t know anything about the deal we might have with Iran, which hasn’t even been negotiated yet.”
Trump specifically targeted senators Thom Tillis, Bill Cassidy, and representative Thomas Massey, labeling them as divisive figures that the party would be better off without.
He remarked, “These people should go home and rest. They only create division and loss. In other words, they are losers!”
In closing, Trump asserted, “Either the deal with Iran is great and meaningful, or there’s no deal.”
