Florida Man Arrested for DUI After Speeding and Open Alcohol Containers Found

A man from Florida was arrested for suspected drunk driving after a trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) pulled him over for exceeding 90 mph on Interstate 75 in Pasco County. Authorities mentioned that the officer discovered numerous open alcohol containers inside his vehicle.

The incident took place at the 280 mile marker on the highway, when the officer, patrolling northbound, noticed a Honda Civic speeding past at more than 90 mph.

After initiating the traffic stop, the officer interacted with the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Connor William Paradis from San Antonio, Florida.

During the interaction, officers noted that Paradis seemed to be significantly intoxicated.

The arresting officers found a total of 34 open alcohol containers in the vehicle.

Based on the observations made during the stop, the officers proceeded with a DUI investigation.

Paradis was arrested and taken to the Pasco County Jail. Following his arrest, authorities reported that his blood alcohol content was measured at 0.177, well above Florida’s legal driving limit of 0.08.

Jail records indicate that Paradis was processed into the Pasco County Jail, but it remains unclear whether he has secured legal representation.

Under Florida law, first-time DUI offenders may face several penalties like fines, community service, probation, and driver’s license suspension, though the consequences will ultimately depend on how the case unfolds.

As of now, there have been no reports of injuries related to this incident.
