Jordyn Woods mentioned that the lucky bags have “had a lot of good days” since making their rounds during the Knicks’ 2026 NBA Championship game. She noted they would be “hanging them in the rafters” following the team’s championship parade on Thursday.
Woods, engaged to Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, frequently sported the sold-out orange ostrich Tux Clutch Mini Summer Citrus throughout the Knicks’ playoff journey, including during their impressive 13-game winning streak. The bag became an unofficial omen of good fortune for the fans.
“This sample was created by me. I began wearing it during the playoffs for my brand, Woods by Jordan. I won the match, so it turned into a superstition for me,” she shared on “Today with Jenna and Sheinelle,” bag in hand during her Wednesday appearance.
“When we couldn’t bring it into the game, it became a big deal. It was right around the Spurs’ 115-111 Game 3 win against the Knicks. That was the first game we lost in about 50 days. So, losing that game without my bag was a significant moment,” she explained.
“Tomorrow, I’m going to hang it in the rafters. There’s a parade planned, and I think the bag deserves a break. It’s been working overtime.”
Fans of the Knicks grew anxious when Woods left the bag behind for Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden due to heightened security measures and a brief no-bag policy because of President Donald Trump’s appearance.
The Tux Clutch Mini bag debuted in April, ultimately being a part of the Knicks’ first championship win in 53 years after a tight 94-90 Game 5 triumph over the Spurs on Saturday in San Antonio.
The bag is now sold out on the Woods website, along with two additional color options, Blue Ostrich and Black Croco. Pre-orders are open, with shipping expected to start in September, as noted on the website’s “Pre-order lucky bags” section, citing “unprecedented demand” for the bags.
“The response to the Lucky Bag (Tux Clutch Mini) has been incredible. We’re truly grateful for the amazing support,” the site stated. “To be honest, we were shocked by such an extraordinary reaction.”
“Because of this, we’ve chosen to make the products ‘made to order’ to ensure that everyone who wants a lucky bag can get one.”
The Knicks’ victory parade is set to start in New York City at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday.
