Morgan Wallen Displays Faith at Concert
Morgan Wallen recently showcased his Christian faith during a concert by sporting a Bible verse on his leg cast. The country star, 33, made quite an impression at Clemson University’s Memorial Stadium in South Carolina, where he had “Joshua 2:21” displayed in white on a black cast.
The verse, which translates to, “And she said, ‘Do according to your word. And she sent them out, and they departed; and she tied a scarlet cord at the window,'” is part of the story of Rahab from the Old Testament. Rahab hid two Israelite spies before Jericho fell and, upon receiving a promise of safety for her family, tied a scarlet cord to her window as a signal.
This scarlet cord has been interpreted in Christian tradition as a symbol of faith and salvation, often seen as foreshadowing Christ’s sacrifice, which delivered Rahab’s family during Jericho’s destruction.
Wallen, son of a Southern Baptist pastor, has often spoken about his faith. He grew up in a religious environment and frequently included Biblical themes in his music. In an April 2025 interview, he mentioned, “As a Christian, I always think if I can throw a little hint of that into my music, I’m always up for it.”
He previously released the faith-based single “Don’t Think Jesus,” coinciding with Good Friday, and other songs in his repertoire also feature Biblical references. He comments that there was a time when the Ten Commandments played a more significant role in education and society, expressing concern over the current neglect of these teachings.
In a past podcast episode, comedian Theo Bonn described Wallen as an “inspirational person,” reflecting his genuine nature. Moreover, after Hurricane Helen impacted Appalachia in 2024, Wallen engaged in charity by supporting victims and donating to aid efforts. His passion for faith and community seems to be a recurrent theme in his life and work.
Ultimately, Wallen’s connection to his faith is visible not just in his lyrics but also in his actions and public statements, a blend that resonates with many of his fans.
