Donnie Deutsch Critiques Socialist Shift in Democratic Party

Donnie Deutsch, a liberal commentator on MS Now, expressed strong criticism regarding the perceived socialist takeover of the Democratic Party during a recent discussion on the progressive cable news network.

His remarks came as the committee deliberated on how Democrats might regain strength amid rising challenges, including backlash over the Iran war and climbing inflation rates. He highlighted, perhaps rather pointedly, that the party is currently distracted.

“All the Republican strategists are undoubtedly excited about what some in the party have said in the past, and they’re looking to capitalize on it,” Deutsch stated. “The Democratic Party has veered off course. Affordability is key for voters, yet right now, the party seems preoccupied with issues like anti-Semitism and socialism.”

In response, host Stephanie Ruhl noted, “Not everyone identifies as a Democrat.” Deutsch countered, saying, “While that may be true, look at the candidates elected recently; their viewpoints reflect where the energy in the party lies.” He cited comments from one candidate about a recent incendiary incident in Colorado, asserting it wasn’t anti-Semitic, which he felt was dismissive of a serious issue.

Deutsch pointed out two recent Democratic primary victors: Merat Quiroz from Colorado’s 1st Congressional District and Daliaza Avila Chevalier from New York’s 13th Congressional District. He remarked on a previous rally attended by the New York candidate that favored pro-Hamas and pro-Palestinian sentiments.

“This is absurd. Both candidates lean toward anti-American socialists who are advocating for extreme measures like abolishing ICE, prisons, and even the police,” he emphasized, adding, “It’s just ludicrous.” He warned that the Republicans would leverage these views against Democrats. He mentioned that, even though this faction may represent a smaller segment of the party, Republican strategists are keenly monitoring past remarks to use them effectively in their campaigns.

Deutsch concluded with concerns for the Democratic Party’s future, stating, “They’re heading down a detrimental path by electing democratic socialists. No matter how you slice it, this is a bad strategy.”

The video featuring Deutsch’s remarks has gained significant traction on social media platforms.
