Trump Critiques Modern Democratic Party
Former President Donald Trump expressed concerns to Breitbart News about the Democratic Party’s shift towards radical socialism, calling it perilous for Americans. He pointed out a historical pattern, emphasizing that socialism and communism have consistently led to negative outcomes.
In a lengthy interview, Trump remarked, “You’d think people would see this coming. History shows these ideas never end well.” He drew parallels to past societies, stating that giving everything to such ideologies usually results in hardship and crime.
He also highlighted his unique way of referring to the Democrats, playfully changing the “E” in “Democrat” to a “U.” “Isn’t that clever?” he asked. “Just a simple swap, and it sums up their crazy policies.” He doesn’t hold back on his disdain for their strategies.
Trump’s reflections came after several prominent Democrats, such as Reps. Dan Goldman, Adriano Espaillat, and Diana DeGette, were ousted by socialist candidates. This trend of socialist victories in primaries beyond just complex races has become noticeable across various states.
He admitted he was pleased about Goldman’s defeat, the impeachment manager who had challenged him during his first term. However, he described the victor, Brad Lander, as even more extreme. “Goldman was a tough opponent, but I can’t be sad about his loss,” Trump said. He acknowledged Goldman had a weak campaign despite being previously highly regarded.
When asked about Lander’s plans to revive controversial mandates, Trump confirmed that Lander’s extremism surpassed Goldman’s. “It’s a good thing for them,” Trump commented, “the party is fiercely competitive now.”
He noted that previously, such radical figures wouldn’t have stood a chance in political primaries. “Normal leftists have a tough time getting nominations these days,” Trump said, highlighting the dramatic shift in the party’s dynamics.
Trump believes this leftward trend could ultimately harm the party in the long run. “If they were more centrist, they’d be stronger contenders,” he theorized.
He also criticized Democratic candidates from Georgia and Texas, comparing Sen. Jon Ossoff to Pee-wee Herman and James Talarico to Alfred E. Neuman. Trump remarked that these candidates don’t represent their states well, describing them as out of touch with local voters.
His critique extended to Georgia, where he labeled his chosen candidate, Rep. Mike Collins, as strong against Ossoff. He reflects on past races, believing that Ossoff’s chance of losing again is high.
Regarding the 2028 election, Trump expressed skepticism about Gov. Gavin Newsom’s viability after a recent poor interview performance. He noted Newsom mentioned a number of personal learning challenges, which, in Trump’s view, makes him unfit for presidency. “We’ve seen the consequences of a subpar leader, and it’s not pretty,” he explained.
On the Democratic front, Trump speculated that neither Harris nor Newsom would emerge as clear frontrunners in the future, despite their notable presence in politics. “They have some capable individuals, but it’s a competitive field,” he observed.
Details from Trump’s interview with Breitbart News will be shared soon.
