Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) said Sunday on NBC's “Meet the Press” that all Republican presidential candidates are dedicated to undermining our democracy and ignoring the rule of law. He said that
anchor Kristen Welker said. “I would like to ask you about the stakes in the New Hampshire primary. If Trump wins on Tuesday night, will the primary be effectively over? Has the general election begun in your eyes? ?”
Hassan said, “Look, from everything we're seeing, there's a very good chance that Trump will win the nomination.'' But here's what people need to clearly understand: I think no matter which Republican gets the nomination, whether it's Haley or DeSantis or Trump, they're all committed to setting this country back and weakening our democracy.”
She added, “If you look at President Trump, who advocates violence, he just did something in New Hampshire and Claremont a few weeks ago, calling his opponents pests and encouraging violence.1 He is an election denier who encourages violence and boasts about appointing Supreme Court justices who have rolled back important rights for American women.Nevertheless, Nikki Haley says he'll vote for him. Ron DeSantis says he'll vote for him. So what we have is a group of Republicans who are aligned with Donald Trump, all of whom are undermining our democracy and breaking the law. They will ignore control.”
