Medivac team of 3 killed in Oklahoma chopper crash identified as NTSB probes tragedy

Authorities on Monday identified the tragic crew of the medical helicopter that crashed unexpectedly in Oklahoma on Saturday night, killing everyone on board.

The Air Evac Life Team has identified the team's pilot as Russell Haslam, flight nurse as Adam Tebben, and flight paramedic as Stephen Fitzgerald. in a Facebook post.

“Thank you for all the support and love shown to the Air Evac family during this difficult time,” the air rescue agency said in a post. “Please continue to keep their entire families in your thoughts.

“Russell, Adam and Stephen, we will miss you so much,” it read. “I'll take you from here.”

The agency said the crew was returning to its base in Weatherford after transporting a patient to Oklahoma City when the helicopter lost contact with its control center around 11:23 p.m.

The Bell 206L3, call sign N295AE, crashed near the town of Hydro, about 105 miles west of Oklahoma City, authorities said.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident.

“Rest in peace,” one commenter wrote on Facebook. “May you continue to fly with tailwinds and clear skies. You will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to your friends, family, and colleagues who are devastated by this loss.”

Air Evac Lifeteam provides helicopter and ambulance transportation, with more than 150 helicopters operating in 18 states. According to the group's website.
