Donald Trump dominates again, as former president easily beats Nikki Haley in New Hampshire GOP primary

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Former President Donald Trump has done it again.

Eight days after sweeping the race in low-turnout Iowa's Republican presidential caucuses, Trump easily defeated Nikki Haley, his last remaining major rival for the Republican nomination, in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary. Broke it.

FOX News predicted Trump to win the primary in New Hampshire __ minutes after final voting ended.

For Haley, a two-term South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration, the New Hampshire primary is perhaps the best, and perhaps last, opportunity to slow or derail the former president's march toward renomination. It was a chance.

Haley said New Hampshire is a state where independent voters, who make up about 40% of the electorate, can vote in any major party's race and have long played an influential role in the state's prestigious presidential primaries. It was considered fertile land. And Haley has spent significant time and resources in the state, securing the influential endorsement of New Hampshire's popular Republican governor, Chris Sununu.

But while Haley appears to have the support of many independent voters, she is among registered Republicans, who were expected to make up the majority of voters in New Hampshire's Republican primary. Trump was expected to prevail.

The big question going forward is whether Haley will continue her bid for the White House. In Haley's home state of South Carolina, the next major race on the Republican calendar will be held, but the primary will not be held until February 24th. Haley has repeatedly said in recent days that she will march to South Carolina.

For Trump, a victory in New Hampshire, following a landslide victory in Iowa, would bring him one step closer to his goal of taking back the White House.

In early 2023, the former president was the only confirmed candidate for the Republican nomination, but there was no certainty.

A year later, the former president once again gained significant influence over the party. Helping him rise to prominence – Trump's legal troubles.

Trump made history last year as the first former or current president to be charged with a crime. But his four indictments, including charges of trying to overturn his 2020 presidential election loss to President Biden, have only increased his support among Republican voters.
