President Joe Biden's (Democratic) administration announced Friday that it is suspending measures pending a decision on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports as part of the fight against so-called “climate change.”
Biden said in a statement, Said There is a pause, but “except for urgent and unforeseen national security emergencies.”

He added that the agency will examine “the impact of LNG exports on energy costs, U.S. energy security, and the environment.” This suspension of new LNG approvals shows that the climate crisis is truly an existential threat of our time. ”

“MAGA Republicans are intentionally denying the urgency of the climate crisis and pushing Americans into a dangerous future, but my administration will not be complacent. We will not concede to special interests.” the president insisted.

“Climate change activists have loudly targeted LNG export projects in recent weeks, claiming they would lead to a significant increase in emissions and worsen global warming,” the outlet said.

It is unclear which proposed projects the measure would affect, but a senior government official told reporters that at least two would have large capacity and two would have small capacity. Another official added that the moratorium implemented Friday only affects projects that have gone through the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) lengthy approval process and are ripe for DOE approval.
According to Breitbart News, in September, Biden told reporters in Vietnam that the only existential threat facing humanity is more terrifying than nuclear war: global warming of more than 1.5 degrees Celsius in the next 20 to 10 years. “It's a transformation,” he claimed.

In a statement Friday, Biden touted his energy policy after saying his administration is committed to combating the so-called “climate crisis” in the United States and abroad.
“We heed the call of young people and frontline communities who are raising their voices to demand action from those in power,” he said.
