DC man knocked out as thieves steal Canada Goose jacket: police

On Sunday, a Washington, D.C., man had his expensive Canada Goose jacket stolen, and was assaulted and knocked unconscious in the process.

FOX 5 in DC According to the report, the man was walking near the 2300 block of 11th Street NW when three unknown men approached him. The victim told D.C. police that the three men assaulted her until she lost consciousness.

Police said the suspects fled the scene and headed north after snatching the man’s Canada Goose jacket.

Some of the jackets made by the luxury brand sell for more than $1,500 and have been targeted by thieves across the Capitol over the past few months.

Police say Moose Knuckles’ coat is also a target.

In early 2023, George Washington University (GW) issued a campus alert warning students about Canada Goose thieves after jackets were taken from victims, sometimes at gunpoint.

In December, the D.C. Police Department announced the second phase of a pilot distribution program for AirTag and Tile devices that began in November to provide drivers with free digital tracking tags if their vehicle is stolen.

Piggybacking off the program, police suggested AirTag is a valuable tool for Canada Goose jacket owners.

Commander Sylvan Altieri told FOX 5, “I’ve seen people use it for tool kits and suitcases. If it gets stolen, I think that’s probably the best thing to do.” “Because that’s a good way to track it,” he told FOX 5. of air tag.
