Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor told law school students on Monday that she was “frustrated” by the ruling by the high court’s conservative majority.
Under former President Donald Trump, the Supreme Court underwent a generational ideological shift as Trump was able to appoint three conservative justices.
Under a 6-3 majority, conservative justices have protected the lives of unborn children by upholding Second Amendment rights, rolling back affirmative action, and overturning constitutional amendments. Roe vs. Wade. These decisions were not born of ideological political bias. Rather, the decision is based on fundamental differences in the interpretation of the law and the role of government.
Sotomayor admitted to students at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law that “any loss” leaves her “traumatized.”[d]. ”
“I live in frustration,” Sotomayor admitted. “As I heard, every time you lose, it’s really traumatic in your stomach and in your heart. But you have to get up the next morning and keep fighting.”

The court’s senior liberal justice said her “originalist colleagues” (referring to the court’s conservative justices) were coming up with “new ways to interpret the Constitution,” so that “some of us “We are changing some of our interpretations that we believed to be well established.” , San Francisco Chronicle report.
But Sotomayor offered no examples of these “new interpretations.”
Differences aside, Sotomayor reaffirmed that he and his colleagues are friends. She went out of her way to praise Justice Clarence Thomas for being “the only judge who knows the names of everyone on the Supreme Court.”
Sotomayor is not the first liberal-leaning justice to defend Thomas.
Last year, when progressive activists targeted Mr. Thomas for ethics violations, none of which took hold, former Judge Stephen Breyer spoke out in Mr. Thomas’ defense.
“As far as I’m concerned, I sat next to him on the bench for 28 years. I like him. He’s my friend. I don’t know what he does behind the scenes, behind the scenes. I never saw him say or do anything,” Breyer said. Said. “My personal opinion is that he is a man of integrity.”
