Haley mocks Trump in effort to entice debate with former president ahead of SC primary: ‘Can’t hide’

First appearance on Fox: Former U.N. ambassador and presidential candidate Nikki Haley has tweeted about former President Donald Trump in a new effort to attract a debate with him ahead of South Carolina’s Republican primary later this month. I’m teasing you.

The ad also encourages people who want to watch the debate between the two candidates to sign a petition.

“It’s no surprise that Donald Trump refuses to debate Nikki Haley. He says he’s not the candidate he once was and that Nikki will mop the floors with him. We know that she is deaf,” Haley campaign spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas told Fox News Digital.

“He can’t hide behind a teleprompter and lie about his performance in debates, but that’s no excuse. South Carolinians have a right to listen to the candidates side by side. Yes,” she added.

The ad was released after President Trump challenged President Biden to an “instant” debate during a radio appearance on Monday.

“We want to debate him now, because we should debate him. We should debate him for the sake of our country,” Trump said.

Biden was asked about Trump’s comments later in the day while campaigning in Nevada.

“Right now? Well, if I were him, I would argue too. He has nothing else to do,” he told reporters.

Trump and Haley are scheduled to go head-to-head in the February 24 primary in her home state of South Carolina. Polls so far show Trump with a double-digit lead.
