Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) said Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that if former President Donald Trump is re-elected, he will “hand over the keys” to Russian President Vladimir Putin. .
Slotkin said: “I think it’s hard again to explain these big things, but, you know, the best guess is that the Ukrainian military could run out of ammunition in the spring. My best guess is that perhaps by the summer there will be no ability to protect places like Kiev from ballistic missiles. There will be a huge influx of refugees and the grain we are talking about to get grain out of Ukraine. The deal could break down, which could lead to higher food prices around the world.”
She added: “Putin will occupy even more territory, and that territory could be projected onto NATO countries.” I don’t know why anyone would say he’s finished after he went to Ukraine. I think he’s hedging his risks and wants to know if Donald Trump will win the election. My sense is that Donald Trump will hand over the keys to Putin. Why fight when you can get the keys from the new American president? ”
“So I think the goal this year is to allow Ukrainians to stay the course and resist and protect themselves until we get through this election,” Slotkin concluded.
