Spineless Joe Biden is inching toward a full betrayal of Israel

Is there a Margaret Thatcher in the house to help stiffen Joe Biden’s spine?

In a phone call in 1990, early in the first Gulf War, the late British Prime Minister famously told a hesitant President George H.W. Bush that “this is no time for dithering.”

As Thatcher recounts in her first memoir, Downing Street Days, Bush seemed reluctant to take decisive action after Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait.

The United Nations Security Council approved the Iraq embargo, but its enforcement was left primarily to the United States and Britain.

Fortunately, Bush accepted the Iron Lady’s resolve and immediately launched Operation Desert Storm, which led to the withdrawal of Iraqi forces and a major coalition victory.

Biden now needs Thatcher to correct her on the Middle East conflict.

Facing Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and a precarious re-election campaign, the president is not only teetering on support for his beleaguered ally, but also heading to Israel to appease American radicals. step by step towards complete betrayal.

His actions and comments are more problematic than those of those officials whom Thatcher derided as “weak-minded” and “driving with the flow”.

It is disingenuous to defend Mr. Biden’s weakening of Israel as part of a strategic perspective on how to bring about a just and lasting peace in the region.

Increasingly, his words and actions have little to do with peace and everything to do with pandering to domestic political critics.

Looking at the change in the president’s attitude over time, the president’s position began as strong support for Israel after the Hamas invasion on October 7, but the president’s position changed from his stance to becoming president because a large portion of the Democratic Party base supported him. You can see that he has changed by making it clear that he will not vote. Israel.

Some of these people, including Muslim Americans and left-wing students at elite universities, are charitably described as ignorant of both history and current events, especially the absurd accusation that Israel is committing “genocide.” Some people are.

They claim to be concerned about the suffering of Palestinian civilians, but Hamas is using these civilians as human shields and turning Gaza into a launching pad for terrorists while stealing billions of dollars in foreign aid. He has not expressed any concerns about the changes being made.

Nor are they moved by the horrific events of October 7, including the massacre of Israeli children and the rape and torture of women.

Many of the other Biden opponents are classic anti-Semites who oppose the very existence of Israel.

These so-called protesters, some of whom are violent, make no secret of their support for Hamas’ plans to control all land “from the rivers to the sea.”

antisemitism in the home

Biden does not differentiate between the motives of his critics and has been embarrassingly silent about the shocking explosion of anti-Semitism in the United States.

Instead, at a recent meeting with Muslim voters in Michigan, administration aides arrived instead of campaign aides, offered profuse apologies, and acknowledged that the White House had erred in its approach. He said there was.

“We are very aware that we took a wrong turn in responding to this crisis,” Vice President National Security Adviser John Finer said, according to a recording obtained by CBS News.

Days earlier, the White House condemned violence against Palestinians and imposed sanctions on four Israelis in the West Bank.

Aides then announced last week that they were investigating whether Israel misused American munitions in Gaza.

To further distance the two governments, Biden has made it known that he strongly dislikes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and despises him, calling him a “bastard.”

He told donors that Israel’s bombing was “indiscriminate” and tweeted at a news conference that Israel’s response to October 7 was “overreach.”

His words sting, but his policies are far more dangerous.

These include calls for an immediate ceasefire before Hamas is eliminated or hostages, including American citizens, released.

If the war stopped now, terrorist organizations would maintain control of Gaza.

It would also siphon off much of the billions of dollars that could be donated to reconstruction, just as it is currently siphoning off much of the day-to-day humanitarian aid.

Similarly, Mr. Biden’s push for Palestinian statehood would reward Hamas’s atrocities and result in a permanent war that could escalate into a global conflict.

Hamas’s blatant hatred

It is also surprising that Biden is ignoring the fact that Hamas leaders in Qatar and Lebanon have publicly stated that they do not accept a “two-state solution” because it means accepting a Jewish state.

“I would like to say two things about the two-state solution. First, we have nothing to do with the two-state solution,” Hamas official Khalid Mashal said in a television interview.

“We reject this idea because it means you get another appointment.” [Palestinian] But you need to recognize the legitimacy of the other state, which is the Zionist entity.

He added: “This is unacceptable.”

That’s not unusual.

Opinion polls show that up to 80% of all Palestinians, including the majority in the West Bank, support Hamas’ invasion.

Some historians liken the task of building a Palestinian state to the denazification of Germany after World War II.

Does Biden see that?

Most frighteningly, his policy avoids Iran’s role. It is the head of the serpent, directing and financing all terrorist groups seeking the destruction of Israel, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.

Iran sits and smiles

Both the president’s criticism of Israel and his efforts to micromanage and scale back its military strategy should be welcome news to Iran and its proxies.

So Biden gives them no reason to change their ways.

The job of selling pre-election snake oil falls to Secretary of State Tony Blinken, who spews nonsense on his “regional shuttle.”

Recently, he has been touting a Palestinian state to Israel as the key to lifting normalization deals with Arab countries.

“Virtually all Arab states now sincerely want to integrate Israel into the region and normalize relations… offering security promises and guarantees so that Israel feels more secure. “We will,” Blinken said Saturday at the annual Munich Security Conference.

“And I think there is also an even more urgent challenge than ever to advance the transition to a Palestinian state that will ensure the security of Israel.”

Like his boss, Mr. Blinken conveniently ignores two huge facts. First, the Trump administration secured the Abraham Accords with four Muslim nations without endangering Israel’s survival.

And Saudi Arabia last year moved toward normalization without a Palestinian state, which Hamas cited as a reason for attacking Israel.

Second, there is no credible vision of a Palestinian state that would ensure Israel’s security.

This is a contradictory story, as has been proven repeatedly over 75 years.

The Hamas invasion differed only in the scale of its ferocious success.

It was the largest single-day loss for Jews since the end of the Holocaust.

And we’re committed to doing the same thing over and over again.

Is Biden too confused to understand that?

Or is he so obsessed with a second term that he doesn’t care?
