A Texas judge on Wednesday upheld a ruling ordering Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones to undergo a paternity test to determine whether he is the biological father of a 27-year-old woman.

Dallas County Judge Sandra Jackson issued the initial ruling on February 19th. According to the Dallas Morning News, the lawsuit was filed by an attorney for Alexandra Davis, the woman who sued Jones and NFL executives.

Attorney Chris Hayes emphasized this ruling in an interview with the newspaper.

“Alex is now in a position where he no longer has to hide his truth or live under the control of fear, and perhaps he will finally find peace. He will be given the freedom from other judges to follow the law. We hope that families can benefit as well,” Hayes said.

According to reports, Jones’ attorney argued during the hearing that the man who was married to Cynthia Davis at the time was the woman’s putative father. dallas morning news.

Jones denies being Davis’ father.

Ms. Davis first filed the lawsuit against Ms. Jones on March 3, 2022. She claimed that her mother, Cynthia Davis, had an affair with Jones in the late 1990s, during which she impregnated him. According to the newspaper, Davis initially filed the lawsuit, which she later withdrew, in order to have a judge declare that she was not bound by the financial settlement between Jones and her mother. He reportedly asked for a DNA test to prove it.

Davis also refiled her defamation suit against Jones in November, accusing Jones and two of her associates of concocting a plan to label her a “blackmailer.”

ABC News reported last year that she could refile the complaint based on statements she made in a March 2022 ESPN article. According to the complaint, Ms. Jones’ attorney, Donald P. Jack, and Jim Wilkinson, the Jones family’s communications consultant, accused Ms. Davis of being a “blackmailer and that the plaintiff was trying to ‘shake up’ the defendant, Jones.” “I painted it like that,” he falsely accused.
