Hillary Clinton said people need to “accept the reality” that President Biden is older and focus on moving forward and defeating Donald Trump.

The former secretary of state appeared on SiriusXM’s “Mornings with Zerlina” radio show Tuesday to discuss what he saw as the authoritarian threat to Trump’s 2024 presidential victory. In contrast, she advised people to acknowledge Biden’s age and move on to protect democracy.

“Someone said to me the other day…’Well, you know, Joe Biden is old.’ I said, ‘You know, Joe Biden is old. .Let’s move on and accept reality: Joe Biden is old.” That means they will be competing against a candidate who is older but capable and who does not threaten democracy. And the other candidate is elderly, barely understandable, dangerous, and a threat to democracy. ” said Mr. Clinton.

She added, “So, really, pick between your two old ones and think about how you’re going to save our democracy. Because no matter where you stand on the political spectrum, Because you want to maintain freedom and the rule of law, and the protection of people’s fundamental rights, at least that’s what I thought.”

Former Obama aides say age is a ‘very real issue’ for Biden, who sounds ‘frail’ and ‘taciturn’

Clinton urged the public to be aware of Biden’s age, but declined to address questions about Biden’s mental capacity. Rather, he suggested that it was Trump who had memory problems.

she said: “Why do we say, ‘Oh, you know what?’ Yes, he still gets things done and it’s going to improve my life and the lives of my children and grandchildren. But , “I don’t like him because he’s too old.” Have you met someone old? ”

“I mean, I think there’s a lot to it, but if you’re worried, listen to Donald Trump. He seems to be ranting, he doesn’t make any sense, he doesn’t know who he is. “I don’t even remember if he’s fighting. He’s always talking about Barack” Obama was his enemy. Last I checked, that wasn’t happening. ”

“So if you’re worried about someone who doesn’t necessarily know what’s going on, I’d be more worried about Donald Trump,” Clinton said.

Clinton also responded to a question about whether concerns about Biden’s age were a “surrogate” for hesitation about having a female president, with Vice President Kamala Harris on the line.

Bill Maher calls on Biden to stop telling him he’s still smart “given his age” and “let his old fart flag fly!”

“It’s difficult for many Americans to imagine a woman as president, but it may be even more difficult when that woman is a woman of color and the daughter of immigrants,” Clinton said. “But I think it’s more about the fact that Americans are a little more sensitive about age.”
