President Joe Biden has released a new budget proposal that includes several Democratic wish list items, including a 2021 campaign promise to raise the corporate tax rate to a whopping 28%. This increase would make American companies pay the highest tax rates of any other country in direct economic competition, which would undoubtedly place a burden on American workers.

Durante believes Biden’s new tax plan violates his promise not to raise taxes on couples earning more than $400,000 a year.
“Given that businesses are made up of people with incomes of less than $400,000, the administration’s corporate tax proposal would likely violate that promise,” Durante said. “Economic evidence suggests that in the long run, workers and consumers, rather than shareholders, will bear a significant portion of the corporate tax burden.”
