“We are in the market for the A321 and if there is an agreement that works economically we will take some action,” Kirby said, referring to Airbus jetliners, confirming earlier reports. . “If we don’t, we won’t and we’ll end up with more Max 9s.”

Also on Tuesday, Reuters reported that Boeing has made a weekly audit of all 737 work areas to reduce quality issues after a six-week audit by the FAA of the Boeing 737 Max’s manufacturing process found deficiencies in numerous internal processes. The company announced internal compliance checks and additional audits of its facilities.
