NYC woman found dead inside duffel bag in Manhattan apartment

A woman’s body was found stuffed inside a duffel bag inside a Manhattan apartment Thursday afternoon, police and law enforcement officials said.

According to the NYPD, Nadia Vitel, 52, was found unconscious and unresponsive inside her Kips Bay apartment at 206 East 31st Street during a welfare check by police around 4:30 p.m. It was done.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examination was prompted by concerned relatives who called authorities and police, sources told The Post.

Vitel’s cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police said it was not yet clear whether criminal charges were suspected as the investigation was ongoing.
