Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday on CNN’s “The Read” that Republican lawmakers are pushing a “debunked” narrative about President Joe Biden that essentially “We are colluding with Russia to interfere in our election on behalf of Donald Trump.” ”
Mr. Goldman said, “In fact, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine did not prosecute Burisma and did not prosecute corruption. And since the next Prosecutor General took office and investigated Burisma, his removal will have a negative impact on Burisma.” ”
“But what’s remarkable is that what Lev Parnas said today is based on a source, a confidential FBI official, who says he’s making false statements engineered by Russian intelligence to interfere in our elections. That’s consistent with what sources are indicting. It’s exactly the same thing Parnas said he was doing in 2019. And what’s remarkable is that Republicans are still talking about it. That’s what they keep talking about. At this point, they know this is Russian disinformation aimed at interfering and interfering with our elections. If they continue to push that narrative, they are colluding with Russia to interfere in our election on Donald Trump’s behalf.”
Goldman concluded: “Any assertion by any member of Congress at this point that the Burisma scandal is some form of corruption amounts to collusion with Russia today and in the future.” Russia is trying to inject fear into President Donald Trump’s election in November, just as it did in 2016. ”
