A player on the U.S. women’s national soccer team has apologized after sharing and liking online content that was deemed offensive.

At least four of Rapinoe’s former teammates reportedly shared her post to support her, including Becky Sauerbrunn, Lynn Williams, Sam Meuss and Christy Meuss.
Apparently feeling the pressure, Albert apologized for finding the simple act of liking and sharing a social media post “offensive.”
“I would like to sincerely apologize for my actions on social media. Liking and sharing posts that are offensive, insensitive, and hurtful is immature and disrespectful and was never my intention. Ta. I am truly disappointed in myself and deeply regret the hurt I caused my teammates, other players, fans, friends and anyone I offended. ”
“I truly believe that everyone should feel safe and respected, no matter where they are, on any playing field. I know that my actions did not deserve that, and I sincerely I apologize. It’s an honor and a privilege to play this sport around the world. I promise to do better on stage,” she added.
Rapinoe has always been a controversial figure for her political and social activism, including her support for transgender athletes in women’s sports and her nonsense about equal pay in sports.
Rapinoe also said that her advocacy for social justice was more important to her than her athletic achievements, and claimed that her career-ending injury was proof that God does not exist.
She retired from professional soccer in 2023.
