California law enforcement shot and killed a suspect Friday at a Los Angeles County shopping mall following a police pursuit, officials said.
According to KTTV, the shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Los Cerritos Center, a shopping mall in Cerritos, California.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the California Highway Patrol was involved in the shooting.

According to the Highway Patrol, the shooting occurred after a police pursuit, but authorities have not provided details about what actually happened during the chase or what prompted the Highway Patrol to open fire.
The sheriff’s office said in a press release that after the shooting, the suspect was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
