A woman whose son works for a House Democrat said in court that it would not affect her ability to serve as a juror in Trump’s hush-money case and be fair and impartial.
When Trump’s lawyer Susan Necheres was asked about her feelings toward former President Donald Trump, she insisted she had “no feelings” toward him.
“This is the first time I’ve been in the same room as him. I’m a registered Democrat. But I don’t have any feelings toward him,” she said.
She said she is “100 percent confident” that she can keep an open mind.
Trump’s defense team challenged her eligibility to serve as a juror.
This is despite several past actions that suggested otherwise, such as a history of negative social media posts about President Trump, in which prospective jurors claimed they were fair and impartial. It’s just one of the incidents.
Earlier in the day, half of the second round of potential jurors said at the outset that they could not be fair and impartial in the case.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg classified the “hush money” President Trump allegedly paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election as a “legal” expense rather than a campaign expense. The lawsuit alleges that the company violated state law by falsifying business records. Bragg claims it was an attempt to cover up federal election fraud.
