‘Shame On You!’: Pro-Palestinian Protesters Heckle Journos, Politicians Outside Of White House Correspondents’ Dinner

A crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators heckled attendees at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in the Palestinian capital on Saturday night.

Demonstrators gathered outside the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the event was held, to express their anger at how the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas has been handled and reported. Protesters dressed in keffiyeh chanted chants, staged “die-in” demonstrations and wrote pro-Palestinian messages as well-dressed lawmakers and journalists entered the hotel to begin the celebrations. He waved a placard.

“Shame!” protesters chanted in unison as the arriving participants made their way to the hotel entrance. Other participants were loudly swarmed by activists denouncing them for what they saw as failures regarding the Israel-Hamas war. Other chants included “Free Palestine” and “Genocide Joe,” the nickname activists have given President Joe Biden for his support of Israel’s war effort. At one point, someone inside the hotel unfurled a giant Palestinian flag from an upper-floor window of the hotel, drawing cheers from the crowd gathered below. There was a significant law enforcement presence on the scene.

The protesters appeared to upset several attendees with their antics, including one who confronted the crowd outside the venue and yelled “Fucking hell” as he left. One person was included. Pro-Palestinian activists also attempted to disrupt Biden’s State of the Union address in March, blocking roads and attempting to delay his address to Congress and the American people.

Voters deeply dissatisfied with Biden’s positions on the issue are voting for alternatives in the Democratic presidential primary in significant numbers, including in key battleground states like Michigan. As the incumbent, Mr. Biden is virtually guaranteed to win the party’s nomination, but divisions within the party over the Israel-Hamas war are likely to make him face off in the general election against former President Donald Trump, who has been in a close race in recent opinion polls. may cause difficulties.
