America may be close to breaking away from celebrity idolatry.
A new online trend known as the “digital guillotine” or “digitine” has begun to block celebrities and content creators like Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift.
Jason Whitlock is surprised that it’s a trend created by the left rather than the right.
“The left is starting to get just as angry at celebrities as the right, basically blocking them across social media apps in protest of celebrities not speaking out in support of Palestine,” Whitlock said. says.
“It’s very interesting that the left is joining in with the right and conservatives in antagonizing and criticizing public figures,” he added.
Whitlock believes this is part of an “awakening” currently occurring in America about idolatry.
“The installed American Idols are in a bad place right now, but before it was just among those of us who are considered conservatives. I get it. They don’t say what they believe, they espouse anti-American values, they’re told what to think and say, and they’re not original,” Whitlock said.
“Now the left is starting to understand that,” he added.
The left is “triggered” by the recent Met Gala, where “celebrities showed up either half-naked or in flashy costumes” and “there were a lot of men in dresses.”
This year’s gala charged $75,000 per ticket, which sent the left into a celebrity-blocking frenzy.
Whitlock points out that people on the left are beginning to realize that “the Hollywood elites, and the elites above them, the real elites, don’t care about us.”
“If those people understood something, you know, we actually think the same thing as the MAGA people. This system is unfair and caters to the needs of a special elite. “That’s what petrified the elite,” Whitlock says.
